Steps to remove Searchmpct from

chrome Google Chrome:

  1. Press  window key +R button on keyboard to open ‘Run’ box.
  2. In the Run box which opens up, type this path: ‘%localappdata%\Google\Chrome\User Data’. Now, search for Default and then Extensions folder.
  3. Delete the folder that would be named somewhat like: ‘eiikolbbafmbldhmifkjbllpmhbiknho’.
  4. Go back to Google Chrome.
  5. Now go to Menu > More Tools > Extensions.
  6. Delete the extension named ‘Convert That PDF’.

mozilla Mozilla Firefox

Steps to remove Searchmpct from Mozilla Firefox:

  1. Press  window key +R button on keyboard to open ‘Run’ box.
  2. In the Run box which opens up, type this path: ‘%appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles‘.
  3. Click on the folder with ‘.default‘ text appended in between the folder name. For eg: ‘e6x5wbsb.default‘.
  4. In this folder, delete ‘search.json.mozlz4‘.
  5. In the same folder, click on ‘Extensions‘ folder and delete ‘@Converter.xpi’.
  6. Now restart your browser.

The infected extension will be removed. Please note that the remnant files might still be left behind in this method.

IE Internet Explorer

Steps to remove Searchmpct from Internet Explorer:

  1. Launch IE.
  2. Go to Tools > Internet Options.
  3. From the available tabs, click on ‘Advanced’ tab.
