How To Remove the Deadly Goner Virus And It’s Effects

When was the last time you checked your PC health? Do you know your PC requires a regular Check Up!!!

Say hi and welcome the new computer virus called Goner that has swirled the entire world of internet today. Though it is not as technical as the recent worms like Nimda and Badtrans that doesn’t imply you can take it lightly.

Experts are of the opinion that the Goner programme is showing its true color and already slowing down the internet while causing great damage to user computers.

Similar to other Microsoft worms, Goner will also spread through Microsoft outlook email. It arrives as an attachment to an e-mail whose subject line appears to be very familiar and reads "Hi." The e-mail message can be composed of anything, it can also be read as:

"How are you? Click onto the attachment below. I promise you will love it."

If any unsuspecting recipient tends to open the attached file, the goner.scr, the computer will immediately appear to install a screensaver until a bogus error message apparently stops the process. But it is too late, by this time, the virus will have itself attached to a new e-mail and will automatically be sent to all the e-mail addresses listed in the Outlook program.

In addition, to this, the virus will begin to secretly delete all security files — anti-virus and so-called personal firewall programs — installed on the infected PC. It also has the ability to install itself within the Windows operating system so that whenever the infected computer is restarted, the virus will spread unless it is removed.

Now that you know what Goner virus is and what deadly effects it might have on your business emails, immediately check your phone for the existence of the same.

  • Step 3: Check the computer with a thorough scan & security scan which will quickly detect any possible viruses.

God forbid if you receive a mail with the said features and fear your system has been attacked by the Goner virus, don’t panic, you still have solutions to it.

If you have received a mail with the said features, do not run the attached file and delete the message, make sure you also delete it from the Deleted Items folder.

If you are scanning your system with any other Virus detector, you will automatically be given the option of deleting it. You can follow the instructions and delete it then and there.

There are also some virus detectors who along with detecting the virus also offer to repair the damage caused by them. You can install any of them for enhanced protection.
