Recently, WhatsApp has shared a piece of news, that after February 1, 2020, it would not create new accounts nor verify the existing accounts any more on a few of the smart devices like Android and iOS.

It's unfortunate to hear that one of the most popular messaging apps, i.e. WhatsApp would not be working on several Android devices.

Additionally, it'll also stop working on all the phones supported by Windows from December 31, 2019.

Only a few weeks are left, when WhatsApp will not be working on individual smart devices.

In the FAQ section, a piece of information has been updated about the instant messaging platform, i.e., WhatsApp.

It'll not be able to execute its facilities and the support system on specific devices because the support for some older mobile platforms will be taken back by the company from February 1, 2020.

As per the information shared on the WhatsApp FAQ section, from next year, all the iPhones running on iOS 8 and Android phones running on Android 2.3.7 OS will not support WhatsApp.

Apart from this, the FAQ section also highlighted that if any of you are still using the older versions of iOS and Android operating systems, "make sure, after February 1, 2020. you would not be able to create new accounts, nor you would be able to re-verify your existing accounts."

Additionally, From December 31, 2019, the app is withdrawing the support from all Windows phones as well, and in the same month, Microsoft will end support on Windows 10 Mobile OS. "After July 1, 2019, it might not be available in the Microsoft Store as well," stated The Company.

However, if you are worried about losing your private chats, then if you are a Windows user and want to gather all your conversations back on December 31, 2019. Relax! There's an option to save your chats.

  • Your first step is to open the chat that you wish to export, and next click on Group Info. 
  • Click on 'Export Chat.' After clicking on it, you'll see the option to download the chat with or without media.

Choose your preferred choice from the provided option and export all your conversations instantly.

When it comes to the Facebook-owned instant messaging platform, you don't need to worry about it, as it'll keep the app running for selective phones like KaiOS 2.5.1+ Operating System, which includes JioPhone 2 and JioPhone.

Please make a note that WhatsApp will not support the following Android and iOS versions from next year:

1.1 All Windows OS phones from December 31, 2019

1.2 Android versions 2.3.7 or older

1.3 iOS 8 or older
